Soulfit St Kilda Personal trainers are experts in the field of health and fitness. They work independently, or most often, at fitness centers, assisting those who wish for extra guidance and training in their fitness routines. They usually give one-on-one personalized support and training on areas such as strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness and endurance. At Soulfit we offer beginners one free session with a personalized trainer in order to get them familiarized with the exercises and more comfortable with their workout plan. Personalized trainers have many benefits and can speed up successful results for any fitness goal.

    Knowledge

At Soulfit our trainers are full of knowledge and can be the necessary introduction to a fitness plan as well as the tools you'll need in order to be successful. When you share your fitness goals with your personal trainer, they will know the exact steps you'll need to take in order to reach them.

Not all fitness goals are created the same, and many require their own combination of activities and workouts. Those who wish to tone and build muscle require a different set of exercises than those wishing to build endurance and/or lose weight. Your Soulfit fitness expert will know the right combination for your goals.

They will also be able to determine the suitable intensity of your workout based on your fitness level. They can work with beginners to build up strength and endurance over the course of the exercise program and prevent those already in a fitness program from plateauing and losing sight of visible results. They will also be able to instruct you on any suggested dietary programs based on your overall health goals, such as high-protein for bodybuilding and weight loss.

    Safety

It is often important to have a professional evaluating your exercises. When done incorrectly, many exercises can result in muscle strain or other painful injuries. Often, individuals are unaware they are doing an exercise the wrong way, and personal trainers can prevent this by instructing clients of the best techniques and forms. They can watch and monitor progress throughout the exercise and let you know when you need to slow down or take a break, depending on signals you may not notice.

The Personal trainers at Soulfit in St Kilda also know the appropriate methods for using the variety of tools available ie; Dumbbells, Kettle bells etc. Those that haven't used these before or haven't previously been instructed on their proper use may find themselves incorrectly using them. Not only can this cause injury but can prevent an individual from seeing successful results.

    Support and Motivation

Another important benefit of a personal trainer is the support and motivation they can provide. Often, we undertake our fitness regimens alone, and it is hard to find the motivation to leave the bed in the morning and head to the gym. With Soulfit personal training in St Kilda, you’ll have a dedicated schedule whilst knowing someone is at the gym to provide encouragement and support for your personal fitness goals and  they will be the necessary push to keep you on track and motivated to push forward.

    Soulfit's 10 steps to a healthy, happy life 06/07/2010

    • Make sure you get a good 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. Sleep is one of the most important parts of daily life and is often neglected. This is our bodies time to repair both mentally and physically so the less we get the more physically and mentally sluggish we become which will eventually lead to illness.
    • Drink plenty of water - the average person should drink roughly 1ltr of water to ever 30k of body weight. Things such as caffeine and soft drinks are not included in that total and it is said that for every one of those types of drinks you consume you will need to ad on an extra 2 glasses of water
    • Eat a healthy diet including plenty of raw fruit and vegetables. Think about shopping in colour. Sometimes we tend to buy the same things every single week. Try and change things up a bit with a variety of different coloured fruit and vegetables (always include the green ones). This will give your body a broader range of nutrients to work with, rather than depleting the same enzymes on the same food week in week out.
    • Eat Organic food - especially  meats,  with so many options in the world today, it can be quite overwhelming when it comes to buying groceries. Try and stick to locally grown, in season, organic produce. Some food travels for 70,000 kilometres before it gets to your supermarket. It's also good to remember what's not in your food, ie; growth hormones, pesticides and GM to help make things bigger and prettier.
    • Chew your food, digestion is a team effort which start at the brain with a thought and finish's...well you know where. Chewing your food is a great way to begin the process of breaking down the food to help the rest of your digestion utilise the valuable nutrients it has to offer
    • Avoid processed foods including, wheat, dairy, sugars and salts (the white devils) The key word here being processed.  Good quality salt such as Himalayan crystal salt, or raw dairy products and whole grains are full of all the good things mother nature intended.
    • Exercise for 30 minutes at least 3 times a week. Exercise releases endorphins (the bodies natural feel good chemicals) and is a great way to stay fit and healthy to ensure you live a long happy life
    • Play, giggle, enjoy, socialise - studies have shown that people who tend to do one or more of the above listed tend to lead a happier healthier life
    • Take some YOU time- make sure to take at least 5 minutes a day just for you. In this busy world we live in too often we forget to take time out for ourselves. No matter how busy you think you are, take 5 minutes and take some deep breaths, relax or energize.
    • Share your knowledge and learn form your mistakes, there's no point knowing anything if you can't share it with anyone. other wise you're just another person with information. Instead of holding on to the fact that you made a mistake, take what you learnt from it to become a better person.
